In keeping with our event series, today we will be discussing dress codes for special occasions specifically for weddings. However, these guidelines are suitable for any event coming up like prom or a grand birthday bash. If you have no idea what to wear, we are here to help you out! We provide you with some affordable and a few exclusive options to give you a better idea of what look you should achieve.
As a general rule for weddings, when you attend as a guest you should avoid wearing white and anything within that color family (i.e. pale beige, cream, white with patterns, etc.). To be dressed in white on someone else's wedding day, can be depicted as a sign of disrespect and ignorance. Unless it was indicated on the invitation, avoid any white attire.
Also, you should try to wear something that sticks to the general theme of the wedding. A good tip is to look at the location of where the wedding is taking place and that can help you figure out what to wear. Down below we have provided you with some examples and a few guidelines for the types of weddings you might be attending this coming season.
1. A Reception Hall Wedding: Formal
A reception wedding is usually a fancy, more elegant event that requires you to dress up a little more. The best option is to wear a simple, mid-length dress that compliments your body shape. The key to a simple dress is the accessories! Don't be afraid to go bold with your earrings, necklace, clutch or shoes! Always try to make one item your statement piece and work around that.

2. An Outdoor Wedding: Dainty
Outdoor weddings are usually along the lines of garden parties and weddings at a golf course. Stick to shorter styles for your outfit and wear wedges or flats to not have yourself sink into the grass. Try out a dress or a jumpsuit with a floral pattern or a pastel color.

3. Beach Wedding: Casual
Beach weddings have a more relaxed vibe. We recommend sticking with light and airy fabrics due to the heat and definitely opt for flats or sandals without a heel - you don't want to be sinking into the sand in the middle of the ceremony. Long maxi dresses are perfect for beach weddings! You will look effortlessly beautiful!
