Or should I say, ¡Hola!
Casandra here! After having spent a week away in Punta Cana, I thought I'd share with you a little bit of my experience and show you what I brought with me to the trip. Of course, I followed our packing guides (which you can find here and here).
Keep scrolling to see what I wore and what I brought with me!
On our second day there, I got a sunburn and a massive one too! Made for quite an uncomfortable start to the trip. Luckily, I brought some dresses with me! This one (that you've seen before here) is flowly and not too constricting, so it glides over my burns smoothly and with minimal discomfort. Dress is from Simons (here in pink). Shoes are Topshop (similar).
Our third night, I was still sensitive from the sunburn, so I wore another dress for the evening! It's long, flowy and again, not too constricting. Plus, the added ruffle over the chest area allowed me to go bra-less, which was all the more comfortable. This particular dress is from Forever 21, but here is a similar option.
Night four, still sensitive from the sunburn. Make sure you pack on that sunscreen, everyone! I opted for a loose tank and some shorts, again going for comfort. Shorts are from Vero Moda (similar) and the top is from Forever 21 (similar).
Night five! I felt slightly better from the sunburn, so I wore loose high waisted pants and a flowy top. Plus, we had a reservation at a restaurant, so I wanted to dress up a little. Pants are from Simons (here), which you have seen before (here) and the top is from Zara (similar).
Night six, the home stretch! Our second to last night in Punta Cana! We had another reservation this evening so I dressed up a little more. Paired an off the shoulder top from Vero Moda (here in khaki) with a pair of floral Amercrombie shorts (similar).
Night one and night seven are not included as I had forgotten to take a picture of my outfit. They were short nights due to exhaustion from travel.
Here are some beachside essentials!
Make sure to bring some entertainment with you. I packed three books with me. Leandra Medine's Man Repeller, Neil DeGrasse Tyson's Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, and Solitude by Michael Harris. Two out of three were done within the week (Solitude was done on the plane ride back home). What else can you do on the beach while sunbathing?
As well, don't forget your sunglasses and sunscreen! You'll definitely need these throughout the day. And pack a bottle of water!
We did an excursion in which we were on a boat and visited other parts of the sea! There was also the opportunity to swim with sharks, sting rays, tropical fish and swim in a natural shallow pool. The boat also had entertainment, which was a lot of fun! Here's what I wore on the boat:
My skin was still slightly burnt so I wore a loose blouse from H&M (similar) over my swimsuit (here) and a pair of high waisted shorts from Just USA (similar).
Well that's pretty much it! I hope you enjoyed this little recap of my week away!
