Hello reader!

We thought we'd share with you some of our current favorites! These miscellaneous items include makeup, hair care, skincare, accessories, books and songs that we've been enjoying lately! We've included both high end and and drug store options in terms of the beauty products. Everything that is mentioned below has a link provided (click the name of the item to get the link of where you can purchase it).

We hope you enjoy!

All our love,

Casandra & Kristin

Casandra's favorites:

Details: Marble tray: Urban Outfitters (here) / Fake Plant + Steel Pot: IKEA / Glasses: BonLook (here)

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist: This is the perfect product for any makeup aficionado! I use this setting spray before makeup application and after my makeup is complete. The lovely combination of rose water and green tea helps immensely to calm down any redness on the face and sets the makeup quite well post-application. It's quite refreshing as well on a hot day. Throw it into your bag before heading out and spritz your face whenever you need to feel refreshed throughout the day.

Price: C$20

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara: If you're like me and love a good dupe for an expensive product, then you'll love L'Oreal's Lash Paradise Mascara. It's the perfect dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara but at a fraction of the price. It gives volume and lengthens your lashes without clumping, which is a necessity for me due to my teeny tiny lashes. It's an absolute dream for a mascara.

Price: C$10.96

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation in Light Sand: For quite a while, I was on the hunt for a good foundation that was long lasting but wore well throughout the day without making me look oily and looked natural on the skin. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation ticks all the boxes for me. As the tube says, it lasts all day. And I've worn this on a 12+ hour day full of activities. Even when it started wearing away, it still looked beautiful. One thing I should mention is that the formula is quite matte, so if you have dry skin, I would not recommend this foundation as it may stick to some dry patches.

Price: C$51

Man Repeller by Leandra MedineIf you love a good light hearted comedy that's wonderfully written, I'd definitely recommend Leandra Medine's (kind-of) autobiography. She recounts certain life events through items she wore during those events. It is incredibly well written and Leandra's usual comedic sense makes you chuckle throughout the novel. And you don't even necessarily have to have been a fan of Man Repeller (her blog) to enjoy the content of the book! It's a definite must read.

Price: C$22.16 (online)

John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum: This product absolutely saved me while I was away on vacation. Humidity and I are not very good friends, so in order to save my hair and combat this, I use this. I've used this on and off throughout the years but I always come back to it because it's reliable and it works. One to two pumps distributed throughout your (wet) ends is all you need in order to ensure soft and smooth hair with little to no frizz.

Price: C$11.47

Double Layer Glowing Moon Necklace: My mother gifted me this beautiful necklace for me 21st birthday and I cannot seem to remove it ever since. We have a tradition in which on our respective birthdays we go shopping together and pick out gifts then and there. So despite that I picked it out myself, she nudged me towards this piece and I am absolutely in love. The rose gold colour is wonderfully complimentary to my skin tone and because it's a double layer necklace, I could wear the necklace together or separately, which is so much fun.

Price: C$149

New Rules by Dua Lipa: Upon discovering this music video while scrolling through my twitter feed, I fell in love with the interesting video but also Dua Lipa's beautifully smooth voice. This is a change from the typical hyper pop feminist jam. It showcases a fun beat but a deep base. It's the ultimate jam for telling boys who like to mess with your head to fuck off (pardon my language, but yeah).

Kristin's favorites:

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel: As part of my skincare routine, I use this moisturizer after I wash my face in the morning and at night. It's a great product to use when you have oily or combination skin (meaning you are oily and dry in some areas of the face). It creates a smooth and soft texture on the skin which makes it easy to apply makeup afterwards. It also helps remove all the dryness on my face because of the gel formula which makes it feel very lightweight on the skin. I recently purchased the travel sized bottle for the convenience of transporting it on vacation.

Price: C$19

Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight: If you are looking for an affordable powder highlight, then look no further! This is by far my favorite highlighter I have ever bought! It glides so smoothly on the skin, it looks natural and it lasts for many hours. Every time I wear this highlighter, I get so many compliments! People say that I am glowing and that my face looks so fresh and bright. It has a bit of a peach undertone to it which matches so well with a pink blush and a nude lipstick. Plus, it is a great option for those of you who can't afford to spend a lot of money on makeup.

Price: C$4.49

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks in Almond Rose and Stormy Sahara: This entire line is incredible for anyone who loves lip products. In the summer, I do not usually choose to wear a lipstick but these two shades are absolutely beautiful. Almond Rose is perfect for one who likes more of a pink, mauve undertone. On the other hand, Stormy Sahara is great for anyone who loves to wear a nude lipstick. They are very creamy formulas which do not overly dry out your lips and they leave a stain after you have eaten a meal. Check out these lip products if you haven't already!

Price: C$5.50(each)

Drop Matchstick Hoop Earrings: I never thought to look at Forever 21 for jewelry but browsing around the store I found these long, gold earrings and kind of fell in love. There are so many dainty and unique pieces in their collection. They are light and very comfortable to wear. They can easily dress up a day look to a night look. Also, a great accessory for the summer to wear with an off-the-shoulder top or a little black dress.

Price: C$8.90

Dirty Pretty Things by Michael Faudet: For a light and easy summer read- you should definitely read this book of poetry and prose. So thought provoking and heart warming. Whether it is about love or loss, Michael Faudet somehow makes every word so touching and relate-able. Anyone who loves poetry, will love this! And for those of you who haven't read it already, give this book a try.

Price: C$20.05

I Say by Seven Day Sons: My music favorite is from a local band from Montreal called Seven Day Sons. They recently released their new single and it is one you need to listen to! A great sound, captivating lyrics and a video that will make you laugh out loud. This upcoming band is one you need to look out for! These guys are so talented and know how to put on a live show. I recently went to their concert at Fairmount Theatre and they sounded just like the record! If you haven't already, make sure to check out their newly released song and video- you will love it!
