Travel Diaries: Kristin's Italian Escape

August 8, 2017

Hello reader!

After two weeks of paradise in Italy, Kristin is back and is ready to tell you all about her travels! She cannot wait to share her outfit details with you during her trip. All items will be provided with a link in case you are interested. Now buckle up and get ready to take off!

First stop: Calabria

Jean Jacket: Forever 21 (here) / Top: Winners (similar) / Linen Pants: Winners (similar) / Superga (here)

Kristin's first destination was to her great aunt's home in Carolei, a small town in the South of Italy. The rustic aesthetics of the buildings and roads were unbelievable; one that you have to see with your own eyes. The nights were usually a little chilly so Kristin opted for light-weight but long pants and always brought her jean jacket to keep her warm.

Second stop: Naples

Tank Top: Forever 21 (here) / Shorts: Dynamite (here) / Shoes: Superga (here)

As you can probably tell from her face, Kristin was still super jet lagged. She was trying to get used to waking up at 6 am which was not something Kristin would usually do back home. She kept her outfits casual for days that were spent mostly walking and shopping. Shorts and a tank top were her go-to day outfits.

Third stop: Cassino

Jean Jacket: Forever 21 (here) / Top: Forever 21 (here) / Pants: Winners (similar) / Shoes: Superga (here)

Kristin finally got to visit the historic Abbey of Monte Cassino which was destroyed during WW2 and reconstructed years later. Although it was extremely hot, Kristin had to wear long sleeves and pants in order to enter the monastery. Most religious landmarks in Europe require you to have an appropriate and respectable attire. If you do not follow these regulations, they can refuse you from visiting the sanctuary.

Fourth stop: Rome

Jean Jacket: Forever 21 (here) / Dress: Forever 21 (here) / Shoes: Superga (here)

After a long day of visiting monuments and walking around Rome, Kristin kept it simple with a slip on dress and wore sneakers to make it easy to walk on the cobblestone streets. This black dress was one that she wore often throughout the two weeks. It was so light and comfortable to walk in which made it  easy to dress up for a night look or dress down for a day look.

Fifth stop: Milan

Tank Top: Zara (similar) / Skirt: Simons (here) / Belt: Simons (here) / Shoes: Superga (here

Kristin finally arrived to the land of fashion! She found Milan to be very similar to Montreal because it is a metropolitan city and it embraces a lot of the old architecture with the new. It has a great mixture of cultures and has a diversified population. Although, what is so unique about this city is the fashion. It is recognized internationally for its simplistic yet chic outlook on style. Kristin took the few days that she had here to do some damage to her wallet haha!

Final stop: Venice

Tank Top: Forever 21 (here) / Shorts: Simons (here)  / Nike shoes (here)

What better way to end a trip? Make your last stop in Venice! If you haven't visited this city yet, then you need to book your next vacation here! You will fall in love with this place! That's not because it is the city of love but it is so different than any other city in Italy. Something about the atmosphere, the architecture and the fact that it is built on water makes it a very special place.

That is it! It is time to return to reality and to look forward to the next adventures to come!
