Food Series: Copper Branch

November 21, 2017

Hello reader!

On our quest for affordable and delicious lunch and dinner options around campus, we decided to stop by Copper Branch, the popular vegan chain located on 1245 Bishop Street. There are multiple locations around Montreal. They've got a wide range of lovely plant-based and gluten free food options at a reasonable price that'll satisfy your appetite. Plus, if you're a student, they offer a 10% discount! Bonus!

Casandra had the Aztec Bowl with a Quinoa base and smoked tofu. The bowl was actually very delicious, featuring beets, carrots, lettuce, corn, sweet potatoes, black beans, guacamole, sour cream and tortilla chips amongst other ingredients. Topped with the accompanying dressing, it's absolutely delicious. It's flavourful and filling and keeps you going for more after each bite. It's healthy but doesn't compromise on taste and flavour and you don't even realize you're indulging in a vegan meal.

Copper Branch prepares their dishes with 100% organic ingredients and ensures that they provide all natural and no GMO substances. After all, their moto advocates that this is the "plant-based power food" that will provide you the right amount of energy that you need for your day.

Kristin had the Organic Quinoa Chili which was the perfect savory dish for a cold day. A blend of organic ingredients such as tomato, quinoa, baked beans, kale and bits of corn coddled together to create a delicious meal. The spices added that extra touch of flavour. An alternative and healthy version of a familiar dish of comfort food. This is what you need on those days where you feel sluggish, perhaps a little under the weather and need a boost of energy to get through the rest of your day. Give this dish a try! Oh, and try their tortilla chips! It is a great side dish with the Chili.

Overall, we had a pretty great experience! Delicious food with a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. What more could you want during a lunch break?
