We haven't done a Food Series post in some time, so here's one for you!
We decided to stop by Industria's new location at Carrefour Laval! This pizzeria features a wood-burning oven, a large open dining area with a bar and even a fridge presenting their gelato and cured meats. The restaurant specializes in Italian food, with a large selection of pizza especially. Their menu also features delectable appetizers, pasta dishes and even other dish options. Industria also features an extensive wine and cocktail menu! The restaurant is also currently hosting a contest where customers can submit their Nonna's secret recipe to be featured on the menu and thus be submitted into a contest to win a trip for two to Italy! Click here to have a look at their website and click here to glance at their menu options.
This new Laval location is their newest one, with their other locations being in Anjou and Griffintown.

The restaurant features industrial and rustic decor, with metal and wood details throughout the whole restaurant.
Each pizza features a pair of scissors to easily cut your pizza into perfect slices to eat! It's reminiscent of the traditional way a lot of us Italians cut up our pizzas. They also serve their hot oil with every meal, which can add a delicate spice to your pizza or pasta dishes. Packs a slight punch without being too aggressive and amping up the deliciousness of your meal.
Kristin had the Salsiccia pizza which was topped with sausage, tomato sauce, smoked caciocavallo (cheese), mozzarella cheese and basil. A simple yet classic dish that was so delicious! The two cheeses melted so effortlessly and with the hot oil it gave more flavor and spice to the mix. A more homey and traditional pizza that is a great option for a late lunch or supper.
Casandra had the Ortolano white pizza. A lovely, wood-burning oven pizza that doesn't feature tomato sauce but still packs one hell of a punch. It includes mozzarella cheese, goat cheese, onion, red pepper, zucchini and topped with a pesto sauce. The veggie-packed pizza was absolutely delicious. A wonderful combination of vegetables and the salty goat cheese adds lovely flavour to the pie. The onions and peppers are soft and sweet, which balances out the salty (but delicious) goat cheese. It's not your traditional pizza but it's one that you will not want to stop eating because each bite just gets better and better.
We also couldn't say no to dessert and coffee, especially with their wonderful selection of gelato made by Gelaterie Pierino. Definitely check out their café where they sell their delicious ice cream desserts!
Casandra had the Eggnog gelato, which was deliciously subtle in the most perfect way. Not too sweet, and not too eggnog-y, it was a great end to a wonderful lunch, especially when paired with a shot of espresso.
Kristin had the Gingerbread gelato which was surprisingly really decadent! Creamy and sweet -the perfect flavor for the holiday season. It's a must try! Plus, their lattes are really good too!
