Tips & Tricks: Putting Effort in the Way You Present Yourself
Firstly we apologize for the delay in posts - it's been a pretty hectic start to the summer but we're looking to post some more! And if ever you're missing out on some These Lost Souls goodness, check out our Instagram to keep yourself updated with our whereabouts!
Now onto the post -
Taking five minutes to put yourself together before walking out of the house is always a good idea. I mean, if you're like us then you've definitely ran out of the house with no makeup on, hair a mess and with sweats and a pj top. You figure, "I need to pick up a few things and then I can come back home, not thinking you would run into someone you know." Then, you arrive to the grocery store and walk into your ex or a friend you haven't seen in forever! Ugh what an awkward moment! Then, you think to yourself, "OMG! I look like a mess! Why didn't I take some time to make myself look a bit put together?"
Read a little more to find out how to better present yourself no matter where you are! Even if you only have 5 minutes to get ready!
1. All Black Everything
You can never go wrong with this classic. No matter what you're wearing, when you're wearing all black you look sleek and chic. It makes any outfit look effortless and you can easily look put together even if you're simply wearing sweats.
2. Comfort is Key
When heading out for some quick errands, especially on days when you really don't feel like leaving the comfort of your home or even the comfort for your own bed, stick to clothes that are comfortable. Find pieces that are elevated but still comfortable and casual. Kristin is wearing wide legged pants which are super simple and comfy! They easily make a look more chic because they tie at the waist.
3. Shades for Dark Circles:
On days where you're just grabbing your keys and running out of the house, you most likely don't have any time to put on a full face, let alone a small amount of concealer. Our favourite trick is to grab your favourite shades and throw them on wherever you are. Embrace your bare face, but on days where you feel subpar, grab those glasses and own the grocery store like it's a Gucci runway.
4. Tie up that Greasy Hair:
When you don't feel like washing your hair and you're in a rush to get out of the house, there's nothing that a quick ponytail or dry shampoo can't fix. Our favourite dry shampoo is Pantene's (which you can find here), it's quick, efficient and doesn't leave your hair gross and white. Gets out all the oil, leaving your hair flawlessly tousled when you probably haven't washed it in a few days.
5. Elevated basics:
Sometimes all you want to wear is a hoodie and a denim jacket. But at the same time you don't want to look like a slob. That's where ~fancy~ basics come in. A hoodie with an interesting touch or elevated pants like culottes or thick leggings make your comfortable basics look a little more interesting and elevated.
